Cement Transport: Logistics and Safety

Cement transport is a major logistical component that directly influences costs and delivery times. Two packaging modes dominate: bulk, transported by tanker trucks, and bags, transported by flatbed trucks. Each mode has specific advantages and constraints that determine the choice for each type of construction site.

Bulk transport is the most economical for distances under 200 km. Tanker trucks, with a capacity of 20 to 30 tonnes, ensure rapid unloading by pneumatic pumping directly into silos. This mode eliminates the risk of packaging deterioration and reduces product losses. However, it requires a reception silo on the construction site.

Transport in 50 kg bags remains the most common mode for small and medium-sized construction sites. The bags are palletized (40 bags per pallet, or 2 tonnes) and covered for protection against the weather. Unloading can be mechanized (forklift) or manual. Big Bag packaging (1 to 1.5 tonnes) offers an interesting compromise between bulk and individual bags.

Moroccan regulations strictly govern the transport of powdery materials. Trucks must be equipped with anti-dust systems and respect speed limits. Dakhla Aménagement ensures that all its partner carriers comply with these requirements, guaranteeing secure deliveries that comply with current regulations.
