Transparency first: DAM sells neither sand nor gravel — our trade is cement, and we do not hide it behind fake prices. But building without knowing the aggregate market means budgeting blind. As 2026 sector orders of magnitude, count 40-80 MAD per tonne of sand and 60-120 MAD per tonne of gravel, ex-quarry. Delivered to site, the price can double: haulage is often the real line. These ranges move with region, quarry and season — only a named quote binds.
Aggregates are designated by their grading classes. 0/4 sand serves mortars and concretes; 8/16 and 16/32 gravels form the skeleton of concretes; ready-mixed aggregate (sand-gravel blend) simplifies small sites. Each class has a price and a use — buying the wrong class costs more than paying for the right one.
| Aggregate | Main use | Ex-quarry price range |
|---|---|---|
| Sand 0/4 | Mortars, concretes, screeds | 40-80 MAD/T |
| Gravel 8/16 | Standard concretes, slabs | 60-100 MAD/T |
| Gravel 16/32 | Mass concrete, foundations | 70-120 MAD/T |
| Ready-mix aggregate | Small sites, slabs | 50-100 MAD/T |
A dirty or poorly graded aggregate does not break the site — it erodes it. Excess fines, clays, organic matter or chlorides degrade strength, raise water demand, multiply shrinkage cracks. The rule on serious sites fits one sentence: the lot sheet before the truck. Cleanliness tests, sand equivalent, grading analysis: these documents cost a few dirhams per tonne and prevent rework worth thousands.
Identify the class you need, ask for the price ex-quarry and delivered, cost the haulage separately, demand the lot tests, then complete with the matching cement: 300-400 kg/m³ depending on the job, a W/C ratio at or below 0.50, and 7-day curing. Clean aggregates + compliant binder + controlled water: that is the triptych of concrete that holds. For the binder, our dosage calculator and quote page price your exact need — the rest of the triptych is bought at an approved quarry.
0/4 sand for mortars and concrete, 8/16 and 16/32 gravel for concrete: each use has its class.
Aggregates are quoted per tonne, ex-quarry: ask for the lot sheet and its test results.
Distance, tonnage, site access: delivered, the bill can double — often the real cost line.
Cleanliness tests, sand equivalent, chlorides in coastal areas: a dirty aggregate costs MPa.
300-400 kg/m3 depending on the job, clean aggregates, W/C <= 0.50: the winning concrete triptych.

Corrosive chlorides for one, excessive fineness for the other: why quarry aggregate remains the rule in coastal zones, and how to secure local sands.
